Peculiarities of foreign language communicative competence formation in children of middle preschool age

Abstract

In this article are concluded that foreign language communicative competence is an integrative personal quality expressed in the knowledge, abilities and skills, value attitude to foreign language speech activity, other personal qualities which help to overcome language barriers and communicate verbal and non-verbal in real situations with native speakers according to the sociocultural peculiarities of the second language. It was found that the structural elements of the foreign language communicative competence are: the linguistic competency as a body of knowledge expressed in the lexical, phonetic and grammatical components; the speech competence as the ability to use linguistic knowledge in a real communication situations; the socio-cultural competence as a body of knowledge of the non-verbal language, ethnic and social benchmarks, behavioral standards and patterns of native speakers, etiquette, national culture, the knowledge of form of the language according to speech situation and the ability to use this knowledge in a real situation of communication; the axiological competence as an understanding of the importance and benefits of foreign language proficiency, the formation of a desire to communicate in foreign language, respect for cultures and nations of the world.
Peculiarities of foreign language communicative competence formation in children of middle preschool age are revealed. It has been found that the second language acquisition in the middle preschool age has the advantages related to motivation. Аt this age the best opportunities can be realized, teachers can use a variety of levels and types of motivation. In the middle preschool age a need for experience and information is an motivation. It was proved that the first two components determine the formation of a bilingual personality, the formation of the third and fourth components of the foreign language communicative competence determines the formation of a biccultural personality. All these components are characterized in a certain logical sequence, reflect the structure of foreign language communicative competence of children of middle preschool age in harmonious combination. The main peculiarity of the foreign language communicative competence formation in the children of the middle preschool age is determined: such formation should takes place by language acquisition that in the framework of pedagogical science was reflected in the immersion method of studying languages or «natural» method.
